Tapping Into Reserves

It’s hard to remember the last time I walked in the sun. Other than a few rays here and there, all my walks this month have been through the clouds. This is typical for winter.

Plants and animals reduce activity in response to winter conditions. They must conserve the stored reserves on which they rely. We humans, however, trudge on as if nothing has changed, all in the name of economic survival.

The sun is essentially nutritious. And there is a biological reason why the scene in the sky (sun or clouds) is felt in my heart.

Although it has been described as such, Vitamin D itself is not a happy drug. It is a link in a chain that allows a body to function. Therefore, I must be careful to ask, “Am I getting enough?”
