Today marks the first day I felt comfortable hiking in the woods, since deer season ended yesterday. Everything seemed to catch my eye, and I wound up wandering around for more than an hour. But the most interesting scene was a mosaic of snow, ice, and road sand that had been painted on the surface of Swamp Creek.

More accumulating snow is in the forecast, along with high winds. Airlines are already cancelling flights. Thus, I expect the portrait I saw today to change greatly by tomorrow.
