The real estate agent would say, “Improve this landscape.” The engineer would say, “Remedy the wasteland.” The hunter would say, “Cull the deer herd.” The botanist would say, “Remove those weeds.” And the hiker would say, “Clear a path.” I identified three avian species, without glasses, as they fluttered away from this living laboratory the moment I arrived. My eyes cherished the place where one could witness nature untouched by humans for nearly 50 years. I say, “Appreciate the marvel.”
