Tomorrow morning at 5:37am (EST) my favorite friend, Spring, will arrive. Daylight and darkness will balance. The signals to emerge, court, blossom, and grow will begin in earnest.
This year, the arrival will be celebrated with the enthusiasm of an anticipated event, one that has NOT been taken for granted. Collectively we have been through hell, but we have survived. Now we have a choice: wallow in anger and despair or give thanks for what is.
Me? My alarm is set and the coffee is ready to brew. I will be getting up to greet Spring with gratitude. I will reflect, watch, and wait a full hour and ten minutes until the sun has risen, proving the new era has begun, that the earth has beaten the odds and made good on her promise to endure.
This piece is so hopeful…I love it.
I too will waken at 5:37am to greet spring. Thank you.
Thank you for your comment. Now that I know you’ll be getting up, too, I’ll be less likely to bail on my intention. Happy Friday.
