Citizen Science

Thus, it is time to embark on one aspect of this blog that I promised it would include: the monitoring of seasonal changes. Called citizen science, everyday people with no professional schooling can contribute to the research being collected by those who want to understand the earth.

There are various outlets for this, often driven by local colleges or environmental groups, intended to increase the number of eyes and ears out in the fields and woodlands. One is called Nature’s Notebook, and that is the one to which I plan to contribute. I’ve made a list of possible study subjects, and I better hurry up and decide, because nature is not waiting for me.
